Syracuse remains at No. 7 in men’s soccer rankings

Syracuse (3-0-2, 0-0-1 Atlantic Coast) remains at No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches’ rankings released Tuesday afternoon.

SU enters the week after a 2-2 tie against then-No. 11 Virginia. The Orange came from behind with a Jonathan Hagman goal in the 83rd minute while junior transfer Hugo Delhommelle scored his first goal of the season off a penalty kick.

Syracuse is one of five ACC teams ranked inside the Top 10, joining Notre Dame (No. 2), Wake Forest (No. 4), North Carolina (No. 8) and Clemson (T-No. 10). Virginia, Louisville and Duke rounds out ACC’s ranking in the Top 25, coming in at No. 12, 17 and 23, respectively. 

The Orange hosts two games at SU Soccer Stadium this week with Oregon State (2-3) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Louisville (3-1-1, 0-1-0 ACC)  on Friday at 7 p.m. The matchup against Oregon State will be the first of four consecutive games at SU Soccer Stadium for Syracuse, which hasn’t lost at SU Soccer Stadium since Oct. 17, 2015.
