EDM artist and producer Oliver Heldens is known for his funky beats and wild dance music, and is set to rock the stage for Juice Jam 2015. Here are five things you should know about the Dutch DJ before he drops the beat Sept. 13.
1. His fans wear gecko suits
The EDM artist’s first major hit “Gecko,” inspired his fans to don the animal’s costume at his concerts. Maybe there will be some geckos mixed in with all the flower crowns this year.

2. Oliver Heldens releases mixes for free online, a lot
Available on both SoundCloud and iTunes, “Heldeep Radio” gives fans exclusive new mixes. The SoundCloud has over 84,000 followers.
3. He produces music under an alias
In July, the EDM artist revealed that he was producing music under the name HI-LO. He wanted to produce music divergent of his typical style. He released “Crank it Up,” under this alas which received wide-spread praise by music reviewers.
4. Genres mean nothing to him
In an interview with Billboard.com, Heldens said, “Genres mean nothing to me. Listeners create the genres.” Sounds philosophical man, but as long as you’re dropping some of the hottest EDM tracks around – that’s OK.
5. He’s only 20 years old
He’s touring across the world, making people fist bump and rage at just 20 years old. You are watching Netflix and dreading that 8 a.m. class. Life’s just not fair.
