Gallery: Syracuse football partakes in paintball on last day at Fort Drum
FORT DRUM, N.Y. — For the second consecutive year, Syracuse players and coaches played paintball on the final morning of their stay at Fort Drum.
Improving teamwork is one of the reasons SU visits Fort Drum and early in the first 10-minute game, a soldier from outside the chain-linked fence yelled, “You’re all working as individuals. Work as a team.”
Later in the first game, a player crept up to a barrier while sophomore safety Chauncey Scissum was behind the opposite side of it. Teammates outside the fence shouted in excitement during the day’s first big highlight as the players shot each other from just a few feet away, but both remained in the game.
Though as more rounds were played, strategies developed and instead of just cheering when people got shot, teammates serving as spectators gave more and more guidance to those on the field.
