Hip-hop folk artist Raury will headline the second Bandersnatch Concert of the fall semester, University Union announced Wednesday night on Twitter. Hip-hop artist Demo Taped will open for the 19-year-old performer.
Raury will perform at Schine Underground on Nov. 4 with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and music starting at 8. Tickets will be available for $5 with a valid SU/ESF ID at the Schine Box Office starting Thursday at 11 a.m.
One of Raury’s most popular songs is “God’s Whisperer,” which has 3,366,094 listens on Spotify.
Hailing from Stone Mountain, Georgia, Raury is a singer, rapper, guitarist, songwriter and producer whose sound fuses alternative folk, rap and electronic music. He released his awaited album, “All We Need,” last week. In 2014 — the same year he graduated high school — Raury contributed to SBTRKT’s “Wonder Where We Land,” released a free digital-download mixtape called “Indigo Child” and signed with the record label Columbia.
Demo Taped, the artist name for fellow Georgia-native Adam Alexander, has an electronic R&B sound.
The first Bandersnatch Concert performers this year were alt-rock artists X Ambassadors and Tribe Society. Other past Bandersnatch performers include Magic Man, Isaiah Rashad and Chance the Rapper.
