Rappers A$AP Ferg and Playboi Carti will co-headline this school year’s Juice Jam Music Festival, University Union announced Friday afternoon.
A$AP Ferg emerged on the music scene in 2012 when his solo work gained popularity through the rap group, A$AP Mob, of which he is a founding member. Since then, the Harlem rapper has collaborated with major artists including Ariana Grande and Meek Mill. He released a solo album,“Trap Lord,” in 2013. His platinum hit single, “Plain Jane,” was released in 2017 on the album “Still Striving.”
Playboi Carti, who is signed to A$AP Mob’s label, AWGE, has been featured on several of its tracks. In April 2017, the Atlanta rapper’s self-titled mixtape debuted at the #12 spot on the Billboard 200.
“He played to sold out crowds last summer on his debut headlining world tour, including festival appearances at Rolling Loud and Coachella,” UU said in a news release Friday.
The two artists will perform across the festival’s stages with the support of artists Anne-Marie, Loud Luxury and Omar Apollo, UU also announced. Doors open for the annual festival at 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 16 at Skytop Field.
Tickets are $20 and available to Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF students with a valid college ID. Students can purchase up to two tickets per valid ID.
Tickets for Juice Jam will be on sale every day after Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Carrier Dome Gate E ticket booth, according to a UU spokesperson. Tickets will not be sold on Sept. 8 and Sept. 15.
