Al-amin Muhammad, a social activist, founded We Rise Above the Streets Recovery Outreach in an effort to end hunger and homelessness in Syracuse. For the last three years, people have been congregating near the intersection of Dickerson Street and South Clinton Street to pick up food and supplies from his nonprofit organization.
