Fran Brown announces Dion Wilson Jr., Kevin Jobity Jr. likely out for season

Syracuse football defensive linemen Dion “Tank” Wilson Jr. and Kevin Jobity Jr. will likely miss the rest of the 2024 season due to injury, SU head coach Fran Brown said on TK 99’s Gomez and Company Friday morning.
Wilson Jr. transferred to the Orange following three years at Arizona and one at New Mexico State. He totaled 31 tackles with 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks in 2023 with the Aggies. With Syracuse, Wilson Jr. appeared in four out of five games, notching 10 tackles as a key piece to the interior defensive line.
Jobity Jr., a junior, had 2.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks through five games. The defensive end recorded 43 tackles and 11.5 tackles for loss in his first two seasons with the Orange combined.
Brown also announced safety Berry Buxton III will miss Saturday’s contest versus NC State due to injury. Buxton saw time as a backup safety, playing 153 total snaps through SU’s first five games, posting a 71.4 tackle grade per Pro Football Focus.
